Speedstream 5200 Firmware Upgrade Instructions

*Please print instructions before proceeding.

1. Download the Upgrade E240_A50_78-52_6100_78-61_v2 upgrade utility.

(If you are using Windows XP built in PPPoE connection skip steps 2 and 3.)

2. Before applying the firmware upgrade, right click on the Tango Manager icon in the lower right hand corner of your computer screen and select "Exit", to close Tango Manager.

3. Answer "Yes" to the Tango Manager dialogue box which pops up.

4. Locate the firmware upgrade utility that you saved to your hard disk in step 1, and double-click the icon. This will launch the upgrade utility.

*Windows SP2 will prompt the user to "Keep Blocking" or "Unblock", select "Unblock" to proceed..

5. Enter Activation Key Code

(This code must be obtained by contacting Windstream's Internet Helpdesk 1-888-292-3827).

6. The utility will first ensure that your Speedstream 5200 is attached to your PC. Once the utility discovers the Speedstream 5200, the "Upgrade" button will become active.

Click the "Upgrade" button.

7. The utility will report "Upgrading Device" & the PWR light on your Speedstream 5200 will flash red during this upgrade.

8. After you receive the message "The upgrade completed successfully!", Click "OK" and the firmware upgrade utility box will close automatically.

(If you do not have Tango Manger installed, skip steps 9-10.)

9. The next steps involve the removal of Tango Manger from your PC. Go to the "Add/Remove" programs located within the "Control Panel". Locate Tango Manger and click "Change/Remove"

10. When the un-install wizard has completed the removal of Tango Manager, confirm "Yes" to restart the computer now.

11. After the computer has restarted, powercycle the Speedstream 5200. Powercylcing involves unplugging the power from the 5200 and plugging it back in.

Open a supported browser and type the following URL http://192.168.254.254 and click "Go".

12. The modem management interface will prompt for a username and password to access the setup screen.

Enter "admin" for the username, Enter "admin" for the password.

13. The management interface will then load and prompt for the ISP username and password. Enter your username and password provided by your ISP. Access Concentrator and Service Name should be left blank.

14. Ensure "Auto-Connect on Disconnect" is checked and click on "Save Settings".
